- Shelton Benjamin has made five prior Royal Rumble match appearances.
- In those five appearances, Shelton has only been responsible for one elimination.
- Shelton is one of very few wrestlers who have been eliminated by the same man in consecutive years. Shawn Michaels took him out of the match in both 2006 and 2007.
